There is something to be said about great music. No matter where you hail from, if you make something that the people want to hear, the people will support you. Ask the New Yorkers who packed out Best Buy Theatre to witness Nipsey Hussle and YG coat the city with that west coast aura.

Fresh off the release of his Mailbox Money, Nipsey Hussle took his talents and fellow west coast artist, YG, to the Big Apple for a show that had to be witnessed live. “2 of Americaz Most Wanted” embodied the rare facet of prodigiousness that would make Tupac and Snoop  part  their lips in an upward motion (smile).  Wearing the simplicity of black , cloaked in the gleam of his chains , Hussle emerged onto his platform bearing his soul.  Hussle enticed the crowd with “ All Get Right”, but “Checc Me Out” proved to be the record that fused the crowd and Hussle together. Hit after hit, song after song, Hussle solidified his bond with his fans.  In true Hussle fashion, Hussle shared a bit of bubbly with the attendees.  It managed to touch a level of excitement fans weren’t aware they possessed.

YG’s entrance cemented the energy. Performing “BPT”, the crowd revved with excitement. It was all love. He could do no wrong. The venue was his for the taking. What was particularly dope just happened to be when YG was encouraged to do his dance. And dance did YG do. Blood walking to Dre & Snoop’s “ The Next Episode”, YG showed concert goers how the west coast gets down. “I’m A Thug” kept the crowd  jumping. A really sweet gesture happened to be when YG called a fan up to give her a hug. It just reiterated the delicate relationship fans have with artists.

“2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted” was the show that kept on giving. Bringing the southern gem, Yo Gotti , to drip his sauce (that Memphis BBQ) on stage was more than fans anticipated. Gotti had everyone on that “Act Right” (all puns intended). When the bassline requested Troy Ave’s presence, he obliged.  “ All About The Money” had the crowd rocking.  The show blended regions beautifully offering the decadence of each culture. It was a musical buffet. Every rap palette satisfied.

There are some artists that once you’ve seen their show, you’ve seen it all. Nip Hussle and YG negates that categoriy. Every show is different. Every experience is new. What is consistent  is the art of delivering epic shows gift wrapped  in untainted honesty.  It is as show definitely worth checking out.
